第14回国際組織細胞化学会議

14^th  International Congress of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry(ICHC) Kyotoに出席して

8月26日から29日まで、京都国際会議場において、表記の国際学会（高松哲郎会長）が開催された。

わが国で開催されたのは、３回目(1972, 1996, 2012)であり、いずれも京都であった。

今回も、28か国より総計約600人が参集して、組織化学の発展を論じた。

私は、各国で組織化学会の連合体であるInternational Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry(IFSHC)の理事長として、学会開催を積極的に支援し、成功裏に終了したことは、極めて嬉しく、日本組織化学会としえも誇りとすべき学会と言える。

26日には、開会式の中で、Dr. Moise Bendayan "Gastric leptin: From immunocytochemistry to clinical application"とDr. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz "Navigating the cellular landscape with new optical probes, imaging strategies and technical innovations" によるDavid Glick Award Lecture が行われた。いずれも記念講演に相応しい素晴らしい内容であった。27，28日および29日午前中にかけてPlenary Lecture9題、Symposium 19題、Workshop8題が開催された。基礎的な生命現象、癌などの病態の解明などに生かされている組織化学の技術的発展につき連日ホットな議論が繰り広げられた。

私は、27日16:20-18:20 Symposium 8 の座長と講演を行った。

内分泌細胞と分化、腫瘍などの視点から大変興味ある討論が行われた。

27日の夜は、バンケットで交流を深め、29日午後は　エクスカーションで西陣織の実演や、清水寺を参拝して楽しんだ。

29日の閉会式では、全員が、4年後のトルコのイスタンブールでの再会を期した。

また、初日の開会式において、私がPaul Nakane Prizeを受賞したが、永年ご指導いただいたPaul Nakane(中根一穂)教授から直々に賞をいただく栄誉に浴することができた。極めて光栄なことと心より感謝しています。
